3 Simple Ways to Boost Your Visibility: My Not-So-Secret Strategies for Online Entrepreneurs
Hey there fellow entrepreneur!
I want to let you in on my visibility "secret". It's not really a secret, per se, but it's a strategy that has worked wonders for me and my business. And the best part?
It's not complicated or overwhelming.
I’m a woman entrepreneur, too –– I get it! I know how overwhelming and stressful it can be to constantly feel like you need to be visible and promote your business. But here's the thing - it doesn't have to be complicated or overwhelming. In fact, it can be as simple as getting to know your ideal client.
Getting to know your ideal client
When you understand who your ideal client is, what they're looking for, what problem you solve for them, and what experiences you have that can support them, you can tailor your offerings to meet their needs. This not only helps you attract the right clients, but it also ensures that you're offering a valuable solution to a problem they're experiencing.
It's about creating a relationship - not seeing them just as buyers or sales in your Stripe account - but truly knowing them as people so you can have a conversation with them (via content and engaging with them via email or social media). Knowing who they are helps you connect with them. It's about truly caring about how you can meet their needs.
By truly understanding your ideal client, you can also create content and marketing materials that speak directly to their needs and concerns. You can use their language and address their specific pain points, making it clear that you understand their struggles and have a solution that can help them.
This builds trust and credibility with your audience, making them more likely to invest in your offerings and become loyal, long-term clients. Plus, by tailoring your offerings to meet their needs, you're setting yourself up for success and ensuring that your business is sustainable in the long run.
Finding a strategy that works for you
But it's not just about what you offer - it's also about how you show up. You need to find a visibility strategy that works for you and your personality. Don't feel like you have to be on every social media platform or run a Facebook group if it doesn't align with your values or goals. If you hate Instagram, then don’t do it. Ignore what the experts say you "should do" and focus on what feels authentic and natural to you.
Remember, clients are everywhere. While social media can be a powerful tool for reaching your ideal clients, it's not the only way. Before online marketing, businesses still functioned and thrived. So don't get too caught up in the hype of social media - focus on what works for you and your business.
Showing up in the right energy
But maybe the most important aspect of visibility is the energy you bring to the table. Consistency is important, but if you're showing up with the wrong energy, it won't get you anywhere. Your ideal clients can sense your energy, even if it's subconscious. So make sure you're showing up in a way that feels authentic and aligned with your values.
Your people would rather read 1 solid post from you each week that was created when you were in the right energy than consume 5 pieces of fluff that don’t really connect with them (just because you needed to get something out there to remain visible).
That being said, there are a few things you can do to boost your visibility and attract more clients.
Here are a few strategies that have worked for me:
- Speak directly to your ideal client. When creating content or marketing materials, make sure you're addressing your ideal client's pain points and concerns. Use their language and speak to their specific needs.
- Use email marketing. Even though social media can be great for building community and engagement, email marketing is still one of the most effective ways to reach your ideal clients and promote your offerings.
- Collaborate with other entrepreneurs. Locking arms with other entrepreneurs in your niche can not only help you reach a wider audience but can also provide valuable networking opportunities and support.
- Show up to networking events. While it may seem a little nerve-wracking, attending networking events can be a great way to meet potential clients and connect with other entrepreneurs in your area. If you’re nervous, find smaller events (either online or in person) and set the goal to connect with just one other person.
- Let them know how they can work with you. While I am always a proponent of serving others first, you do need to let them know that there is the opportunity to work with you and how they can take that next step to begin solving their problem. This is the #1 thing many of us are forgetting in our interactions.
Takeaway
At the end of the day, the key to successful visibility is finding a strategy that works for you and your business. When you focus on your ideal client, show up with the right energy, and utilize effective marketing strategies, you can attract more clients and grow your business. So don't be afraid to experiment and try new things - you never know what might work for you!
